Beneficial yoga for varicocele

Usually the problem of varicocele is seen between the age of 15 years to 35 years. There are valves in the veins of the testicles, which lead the blood from the testicles and scrotum towards the heart. When these valves do not work, then the blood gets accumulated in one place. Due to this, the veins around the testicle swell and the problem of varicocele arises.

It is advised to correct the problem of varicocele with yoga instead of medicines and injections. Come, let us know in detail which yogasanas are beneficial in varicocele –


Pranayama helps in increasing blood circulation in the whole body. Varicocele is also a disease related to blood circulation, therefore pranayama like Kapalbhati and Anulom-Vilom can provide relief from this pain by increasing blood circulation in the body. The process of doing both these types of Pranayama is explained below –

Process of Kapalbhati:

  • First of all sit in Vajrasan or Padmasan .
  • After this, make Chitta Mudra by keeping both the hands on the knees.
  • Take a deep breath inward and exhale through the nose with a jerk. While doing this, the stomach will go inwards.
  • Keep doing this continuously for a few minutes. It can be done from 35 to 100 times at a time.
  • Keep in mind that during this time the mouth should not be opened.

Process of Anulom-Vilom:

  • First of all, make the body straight and sit. Keep the spine and neck straight and close the eyes.
  • Now close the right nostril with the thumb of the right hand and breathe through the nostril of the opposite hand. 
  • Now, while raising the thumb from the right nostril, close the left nostril with two fingers and exhale slowly through the right nostril.
  • After this, inhale through the right nostril and then close it with the thumb and then exhale slowly by removing the fingers from the left nostril.
  • In this way one cycle will be completed. In this way you can do 5-6 cycles at a time.


In Dhanurasana the body looks like a bow. This asana reduces the symptoms of varicocele and increases circulation of blood in the veins around the testicle present in the scrotum.

Posture Process:

  • First, lay a yoga mat on a flat surface and lie down on your stomach and keep your hands beside your body.
  • After this, bending the knees, bring the feet near the hips.
  • Then hold the ankles with both the hands and try to raise the body while breathing.
  • Then try to look back as far as possible.
  • Stay in this position for a few seconds and keep breathing at a normal pace.
  • After this slowly come back to normal state and do it again after resting for some time.


With Matsyasana , the body becomes in the shape of a fish . This asana creates a stretch in the body, due to which the circulation of blood in the veins and muscles increases. Therefore, this asana provides relief from the swelling of the veins around the testicle due to varicocele . There are many ways to do this yogasana, but here we are telling the easiest way to do it.

Posture Process:

  • Sit in Padmasana on the yoga mat.
  • Now slowly bend backwards and lie down on your back.
  • After this, hold the left leg with the right hand and the right leg with the left hand.
  • During this, the elbows and knees will remain adjacent to the ground.
  • After this, while breathing, try to turn the head backwards.
  • Now stay in this state for some time and keep breathing at a normal pace.
  • Now while exhaling slowly come back to the first position.
  • Do it again after resting for some time.


By doing Vajrasana  , one gets relief from the problem of varicocele. The patient of varicocele should sit in this posture for 10 to 20 minutes. This is the easiest and most beneficial yoga asana. This is such a yoga asana, which can be done immediately after having food.

Posture Process:

  • Stand on the knees and join the thumbs of both the feet together.
  • Now sit on it keeping a distance between the ankles. 
  • In this state, all the weight of the body should be on the feet and keep both the hands on the thighs. 
  • The waist and the upper part should be absolutely straight.


This asana, known as Kamal Asana, gives strength to the whole body. By doing this asana daily, the tension of the body is reduced and the circulation of blood in the muscles as well as in the veins increases. This reduces the swelling of the nerves of the testicle, which gives relief from pain.

Posture Process:

  • Sit with the legs spread in front and keep the spine straight.
  • Bending the left knee, place the foot on the right thigh. Keep in mind that the heel should be near the stomach and the sole of the foot should be upwards.
  • Now repeat the same thing with the other leg.
  • Place the hands on the knees in mudra position.
  • Staying in this position, keep breathing deeply.

Salamb Bhujangasana

This asana is a form of Bhujangasana . By doing this asana, blood circulation improves and the body gets relief from stress. By doing this, the valves of the veins around the testicle open, which reduces swelling and reduces pain.

Posture Process:

  • Lie down on the stomach, keep the toes of the feet on the floor and the forehead on the ground.
  • Keep the feet together keeping the toes and ankles close to each other.
  • Keep the hands near the head and the palms should be touching the ground.
  • Now take a deep breath and slowly lift the head, chest and stomach, while the navel should remain attached to the floor.
  • With the help of hands, pull the body backwards away from the ground.
  • Stay in this state for some time and keep breathing at a normal pace.
  • After this, while exhaling, slowly come down and rest for some time.

Anand Balasan

Ananda Balasana  is relaxing and helps in reducing stress. In this asana, one has to lie down on the back and lift both the legs up and hold them with the hand like a small child does. By doing this asana, there is stretching of the body, due to which there is pressure on the muscles and nerves. Due to this, the valves of the veins around the testicle open and the flow of blood increases in them.

Posture Process:

  • Lie down on your back and take a long deep breath.
  • Now while exhaling bend the knees towards the chest.
  • The feet should be towards the ceiling.
  • Let the hips remain attached to the ground.
  • Hold both feet from inside or outside with both hands.
  • Slowly spread the knees and move them towards the armpits.
  • Move the feet back and forth and slowly rotate the body to one side and then to the other side.
  • Stay in this position for a few seconds and then slowly come back to the first position.

Shavasana is the easiest yoga asana. This easy gives rest to the whole body. Along with this, mental stress also goes away and the flow of blood in the body is better. Due to this, due to varicocele, the swelling in the veins of the testicle of men reduces and pain is relieved.

Posture Process:

  • Without taking any pillow or support, lie down on the yoga mat on your back and close your eyes.
  • Keep a little distance between the feet and keep the hands also a little away from the body.
  • The direction of the palms should be towards the sky.
  • Relax the whole body.
  • Take slow and deep breaths and keep your full attention on the breath.
  • Pay attention not to fall asleep while doing this asana.
  • After 10-20 minutes, when the body comes to a state of complete rest, keep the eyes closed and turn to the right side. Stay in that position for 1 minute. Take the support of the right hand and sit up. 
  • Keeping the eyes closed, take a few long deep breaths and slowly open the eyes.


The problem of varicocele is sometimes ignored as a common pain, but it is wrong to do so. If this is not taken care of, it can become a big problem. If left untreated for a long time, varicocele can cause infertility in men. Due to this, the power of making sperm in men can also be affected. In such a situation, the best way to get rid of this pain is yoga.
