Lavender is mainly used in  aromatherapy  . Anxiety ,  depression  and  fatigue  can be improved to some extent by using it  . Some scientific studies suggest that lavenders contains compounds that can stimulate activity in certain parts of the brain, which can improve mood and calm the mind. Extracts and oil extracted from lavenders are mainly used in this work. Although, this work can also be done by consuming lavenders tea, but there is little research available to confirm this fact.

Research was conducted on 80 women who became mothers for the first time in Taiwan to investigate the effect of lavender tea. They were asked to drink 1 cup (250 ml) of lavender tea daily for 2 weeks. Later it was found that women who drank lavender tea had less fatigue and depression than women who did not drink lavender tea.

To confirm this, scientists did research on about 158 ​​women who became mothers for the first time. In this research, it was told that women who took the scent of lavenders for about 4 days every week for 8 weeks, their sleep was improved.

In a study done on rats, it was found that applying lavenders oil for 14 days helped in faster healing of wounds. At the same time, there is no research available regarding tea in this regard. Still, there is no harm in drinking lavenders tea in moderation.

Disadvantages of lavender tea

  • Pregnant women should not drink lavender tea. It is believed that drinking it can  cause miscarriage  .
  • Some scientists believe that lavender tea has the effect of lowering cholesterol. In such a situation, if someone is taking medicine to reduce cholesterol, then drinking this tea can have a negative effect.
  • This tea itself has an anticoagulant effect, so if someone is already taking blood thinners, then drinking lavender tea with it can be harmful.
