How to Make Potato Curry

  • 4 potatoes
  • 1 bay leaf
  • a pinch of asafoetida
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 2 green chilies
  • Ginger, Garlic Grated
  • 2 finely chopped onions
  • salt to taste
  • 1 tomato grated
  • tsp coriander powder
  • 1 red chili powder
  • a pinch of garam masala
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder

How to make Potato Vegetable (Aalu Ki Sabji Recipe)

  • First of all, we will wash the potatoes well.
  • Now we will cut the potatoes.
  • Cut the potatoes into the shape you want.
  • Now we will take a vessel.
  • In the pan we will put oil, cumin and bay leaves.
  • When cumin seeds are fried, then we will add ginger and garlic paste to it. If you like ginger more, then you can also use it by cutting ginger into small pieces.
  • Then we will put a pinch of asafoetida in it.
  • After half a minute, we will add 2 green chilies, as per taste and finely chopped onions.
  • We have to cook it till it turns golden.
  • To cook it, we will keep it covered for 5 minutes on slow gas.
  • After 5 minutes it is completely ready.
  • Now we will add coriander powder, red chili powder, garam masala and turmeric to it.
  • Now we will mix it.
  • Then we grate 1 tomato in it.
  • We have to cook this mixture till it starts leaving the pan.
  • Now we will put 1 glass of water in it and mix it.
  • When the water starts boiling, we will add potatoes to it.
  • Now cover it and cook it for 12-13 minutes.
  • If you want to add more salt then you can add salt now.
  • After 12-13 minutes our vegetable is completely ready.

  • Put the potato curry in the bowl.
  • Place two red chilies on top of the vegetable.
  • If you want, you can also keep 1 bay leaf.
  • Serve it by pouring green coriander over the vegetable.
