Early work 1969–1972
Amitabh began his career in films as a cast member in the film Saat Hindustani , directed by Khwaja Ahmed Abbas,  starring alongside Utpal Dutt , Madhu and Jalal Agha. It is believe that Bachchan took an exorbitant amount of 25 lakh rupees (US$2.5 million, approximately US$60,000) for the weekly episode to conduct the program, which cost Bachchan and his family both morally and financially.
